The World Federation is a global umbrella body of regional federations in Africa, Europe, North America and country affiliate organisations in S E Asia and Australasia that supports its member institutions to promote the values and practices of Shia Muslims for the spiritual and material upliftment of its members and through them humanity at large.
Contributions to RE
In England and Wales, through its Islamic Education Board the World Federation supports the promotion of Religious Education by promoting harmony amongst the community Madaris (centres of religious education) to nurture piety through developing a model curriculum, support the development of teachers, the creation and enhancing of learning resources and the assessment and evaluation of the effectiveness community’s Madaris in developing individuals who promote good values within their family, the Muslim community and make themselves an asset for the neighbourhood and community.
Additionally, residential courses are run for youth leadership in collaboration with the World Federation’s capacity building program for the creation of youth mentors and leaders for the community’s work in developing effective teachers and leaders for the religious education program.
The Islamic Education board also ensures that the Imams and chaplins serving the community organisations receive continuous professional development and where beneficial, undertake postgraduate courses in Religious Education at an English university.
The work in the field of religious education seeks to create the best in practice and we regularly collaborate with leading trainers and facilitators as well as academic and religious organisations in England and Wales and beyond to build on our activities.
