Bible Society is an inter-denominational charity which has been encouraging the circulation and understanding of the Bible since its foundation in 1804. As well as working in Religious Education, our activity includes Bible translation and printing, the creation of digital formats, work in the arts, and resources for churches and the public.
Contributions to RE
Our contribution to R.E. centres around the provision of educational resources for classroom use, supporting teachers in using the Bible in their lessons with confidence and supporting students in using it as part of their studies.
We have a PhD grant programme which provides financial support for people studying at doctoral level whose thesis has a biblical focus.
