The teaching school hub programme is described by the Department for Education as, “a network of 87 centres of excellence for teacher training and development, focused on some of the best schools and multi-academy trusts in the country.”
The remit of Teaching School Hubs has obvious links with the work of Standing Advisory Councils on RE (SACREs), especially in relation to the training of teachers.
The short briefing paper sets out some of the ways in which the RE (religion and worldviews) community can support Teaching School Hubs. This includes providing subject specific knowledge of policy about the subject, content knowledge, pedagogical knowledge and opportunities for teachers to engage with educational theory and research.
Members are invited to share this document with Teaching School Hub Directors in their area.
