Sixteen MPs from across the main political parties took part in an All Party Parliamentary Group event to publicise their belief that good RE should be available for all young people. They discussed the subject and its value for modern life with a team of Young Ambassadors for RE, students at St Bede’s School in Cambridge. They also met the comedian Sara Pascoe who has recently become a patron of the RE Council. Several MPs mentioned the need for more properly trained teachers of RE to make sure that all school pupils studied RE in an engaging but academically rigorous way.
